Every year, the ‘Nederlandse Biotechnologie Vereniging’ awards the Zilveren Zandloper Innovation (odd year) or the Zilveren Zandloper Education (even year) awards. The prize consists of an statuette and a money prize of € 2500,- and is awarded during the NBC. These awards are given to a person/entrepreneur or group of people/entrepreneurs that have successfully contributed to the field of biotechnology in either innovation or education.
In 2025 the Zilveren Zandloper Innovation Award will be awarded. Submit your nominee by sending an email to nbv@kncv.nl with the forms on the left of this page. The prize is awarded to one or more persons who have made a special contribution to innovations in biotechnology.

Presentation and award ceremony: During the annual Netherlands Biotechnology Congress.
Jury
The jury consists of one member of the board of NBV and two external people. Decisions of the jury cannot be challenged.
