Call for the prize ChemBioChemistry-Europe
Chemistry Europe (Wiley-VCH GmbH) and the EuChemS Division of Chemistry in Life Sciences seek to acknowledge and recognize outstanding young research group leaders that contribute to the field of Chemical Biology.
Regulations
1- Profile. Candidates may be researchers of any nationality who develop their activity in the field of the Chemical Biology. They must have already shown the potential for research independence and evidence of maturity, for example by having produced at least one impact publication as main author or without the participation of their PhD supervisor.
Candidates should show a promising track record of early achievements appropriate to their research field and career stage, including 1) significant publications (as main author) in major international peer-reviewed journals 2) invited lectures in well-established international conferences, 3) awards, prizes, or any other scientific achievements, 4) funded projects as PI. 5) patents.
2- Admissibility and eligibility criteria. Candidates who have successfully defended their first PhD > 2 and ≤ 7 years. Maternal/paternal leaves are considered in the extension of the eligibility period.
3- Procedure. Candidates should send a brief CV and 2 presentation letters (max. 2 pages), together with a reasoned justification for the candidacy, stressing especially a published article in the past two years (or its acceptance proof) in an international research journal in which the candidate is corresponding author without the participation of their PhD supervisor.

The awardee will be elected by a Committee constituted by members of the Governing Board of the EuChemS-LS Division and delegates, which will assess the merits presented by the candidates, the impact of their contributions and the relevance of the chosen article. The decision of the Committee will be definitive.
4- The prize will consist of a diploma, € 1000, and the presentation by the Prize recipient of an invited lecture at the next edition of the European Chemical Biology Symposium 6-9 October 2025, Paris, jointly organized by the EuChemS-LS Division, the ICBS and EU.openscreen.
5- Deadline for submission is 27th November 2024
Any application after the deadline will not be accepted.
